HISTORY
Where you've been, says something about where you're going.  Since July 1976, Prisma Inc. has grown to be one of the largest art studios in Pittsburgh. A commitment to providing a full-service, one-stop source for advertising art has been a defining characteristic.From the days of "traditional" cut and paste, Prisma has always adapted and evolved with the changes in the graphic art business. We had an in-house typesetting department in the days when most studios sent out to trade shops for type. Whether a job required airbrush retouching, illustration or some other specialty, we have always had the appropriate people in-house.Full-service advertising means "from start to finish." Our production background has afforded us long-standing, close alliances with printers and photographers to insure proper completion of each project.Even now, as most advertising art is produced on computer, many studios have lost touch with the hand skills required for demos, comps, and presentations. Being heavily involved in producing packaging artwork, we commonly create mock-ups for sales samples and photography before the actual packaging is produced.At a time when other studios were debating the use of computers in advertising, and trying to avoid their acceptance, Prisma was investigating the promising new technologies. When we moved to the digital world, we invested in a big way, and what was once the largest traditional art studio in Pittsburgh evolved into what is arguably the largest digital advertising source in the region. We provide services which were once prohibitively expensive, but are now commonplace: computer retouching and illustration, pre-press and film, 3D rendering, internet graphics, and so on.
 Unpretentious . . . and proud of it.We are located in The Waterfront Building which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Nice place, but a word of warning: we've built our reputation on hard work and quick response, so don't expect lots of flashy, showy agency atmosphere.
